Sorry this post is a little different from the old post as wordpress changed their editor and it is making my life hard!
Qin Luo has been spending the last two day in leisure. There was no need to force himself to eat the unpalatable cakes from the last days nor was there a need to fight with a horde of mutants. During the day, he would bring Ink and Qin Ke to stroll the farms, have a picnic and mediate about life. In the evening, he would watch some TV and continue removing the large volume of silver ions from Ink’s legs.
On the morning of the third day, Qin Luo received a call from Old John. He had hired some extra hands and would be able to finish transporting all the canned food to the warehouse by the highway in half a day’s time. Qin Luo may notify his friend to arrange their transportation for the pickup of the goods.
At two o’clock in the afternoon, Qin Luo personally made a trip to the warehouse to inspect the goods. He transferred some of the funds acquired through George, cashing some of his assets into Old John’s account as payment. Initially, Old John had planned to accompany Qin Luo to meet this big client but Qin Luo had used an excuse: the other party would only arrive in the middle of the night, and sent Old John and the rest of the help away. After they had departed a safe distance away, Qin Luo hurriedly gathered the cans into his space, secured the metal doors and drove back to the farm.
In the next few days, Qin Luo used the same method to transfer the acquired livestock and poultry from the warehouse into his space. Judging from the current speed which the livestock and poultry are being transported to the slaughterhouse, he might have to stay her for a week or so.
That evening, Qin Luo’s family of three were having dinner while tuning into the news. As it has a local station, Qin Luo only partially paid attention to it.
Currently, a territorial sea dispute between Country R and Country Z is being broadcasted. As Qin Luo is a patriotic citizen of Country Z. Although the country’s system had been broken due to the apocalypse and the land was one that he was no longer familiar with; the blood of the Yellow Emperor still runs in him as he is one of his descendants; which made him worried for his homeland.
The general content of the news is that there was a UFO which crashed into the territorial sea of Country Z which was close to the territorial sea of Country R. Regardless of strict warnings from the government of Country Z, Country R had violated the border laws and salvaged the UFO from the waters of Country Z.
Qin Luo’s chopsticks fell on to the table, making a noisy clatter. He stood up fiercely and strode to the TV in a few steps. Just as the news station displayed a few pictures of the distant aerials shots, all of which were pictures of the UFOs salvaged by Country R. These were followed with shots of various gatherings, protests and demonstrations of the citizens of Country Z.
Qin Luo’s fist shot at the TV set, due to the strong force of his fist, the TV shook a few times on the wooden table.
Both Ink and Qin Ke were inexplicably confused by his actions. They were not sure why Qin Luo was agitated by this news and even took it out on theTV.
“Little Uncle, what’s wrong?” Qin Ke looked at Qin Luo with his big eyes.
Qin Luo’s brows furrowed deeply and he was silent for a long time. The start of the apocalypse had advanced, it was at least half a year ahead of schedule. Those who have experienced the apocalypse know that the UFO Country R had forcibly salvaged was the fuse that eventually triggered the apocalypse. Country R could not wait to study this UFO but to prevent the covert interference of their allied Country M, they had transported the UFO, with much effort, to a hidden research centre below F Island’s nuclear power plant. What these SBs* did not expect was a nuclear leak, one that would cause a bacteria that the UFO carried to undergo a transformation, setting off a catastrophe against Earth. Not only humans, but all of the living species on Earth had suffered. The island nation which had committed countless crimes in WWII had undergone a total genocide.
*T/N SB in Chinese is a slang for cursing. It actually means stupid c**t/silly p***y.
“We will leave tomorrow and head to the wine estate.” Qin Luo unhurriedly said to Mo and Qin Ke.
Ink did not have any objections and nodded silently. Qin Ke was somewhat unhappy, “Grandma Tia said she would make me delicious meatloaf for dinner tomorrow, can’t we go the day after?”
Qin Luo shook his head. “Xiao Ke, I will inform Mrs. Tia to make extra meatloaves for you when we get back.”
Qin Ke saw how insistent Qin Luo was and nodded with a pout, barely accepting the conditions.
Early the next mooring, Qin Luo set off with Qin Ke and Ink to the wine estate. This time Qin Luo did not tarry. They stayed a night then arranged for five large vans to transports two-thirds of the wine back to the warehouse by the highway in one go. He then secretly secured the wine in his space.
He did not continue visiting the other small farms around them and let Zed hasten the process of acquiring the livestock and poultry and have them all transported to the warehouse within two days.
Zed faced him with a serious mien, fearing that there might have been some changes on the other party’s end and urged his workers to work overtime. Fortunately, with everyone working hard, everything was able to proceed smoothly. No one questioned it as the rate of the overtime pay was high and because of that they worked even faster.

Qin Luo did not stay idle, after taking a picture of Ink, he spent the whole morning editing it carefully on the computer until it was unrecognizable from every angle. When he was finally satisfied with his work, he contacted the correspondent for Geroge. He sent the edited picture of Ink, requesting that this picture be used for the application of identity he had previously requested. In addition to that, he stated that it would be best if the certificates and passports be delivered to the Walter couple’s villa within three days. The longer it takes for them to receive the documents, the longer it would take for them to leave George’s sight. The other party’s response was swift and they promised that the documents will be delivered in three days’ time. They hoped that Qin Luo would leave the UK as soon as possible.
The next night, Qin Luo successfully collected the last batch of meat from the warehouse. The following day, he left with Ink and Qin Ke but before he left, he pulled Zed aside for a talk. Obviously he could not be direct about what’s coming and say ‘the apocalypse is nigh, take care of yourself’. That would only make them think he was insane. Instead, he phrased his sentences very carefully when speaking to Zed. He told Zed that he had a friend who was involved in a research at a secret centre, and they had recently discovered a new type of virus. The rate of infection was high and at the present there is still no treatment that could control or cure it. It is estimated that a large-scale outbreak will be a hundred times more serious than the initial outbreak of the ‘Black Death’. Unfortunately, for reasons unknown, there were several carriers of the virus who have fled the laboratory and mixed into the population.
Zed took a deep breath, he could hardly believe what he was hearing. Although he is only the head of a farm, he was still familiar with the term ‘Black Death’. It is said that this disease had caused three large scale outbreaks in history and during the last outbreak, it infected over thirty countries. Originally it was not known that it was a plague and it was thought that once one was infected, death was imminent in the future. If it is as Qin Luo has said, then there would be an uncontrollable catastrophe in the future.
Qin Luo warned Zed to try and limit the workers from going out. Once a person is found to have a stiff body, absolutely do not go nearly. In the later stages of the disease, the infected would bite at any living being with flesh and blood and once bitten, there is basically no possibility of treating them. Moreover, Zed should also pay attention to the farm’s drinking water. It is best to store plenty of water and food.
Although Zed looks tall, burly and bold, he was a cautious person. Qin Luo is a calm and capable person, he would definitely not speak off the top of his head*. In view of Qin Luo’s performance during the past few days, Zed has been almost convinced. He immediately had the message secretly passed down and began storing water and food.
*T/N 心口开河 I think the author made a typo. I think she meant 信口开河 which is an idiom where one speaks without thinking. I tried to use a english idiom which could replicate the meaning.
Qin Luo saw that his words were taken seriously and patted Zed’s shoulder, he continued telling Zed that he should pay attention to any changes in the surrounding plants. Sometimes it may seem to be the safest place but that may be where the biggest danger lies.
Wrinkles formed on Zed’s forehead, although he wasn’t sure why Qin Luo specifically mentioned that, he still cautiously nodded and sent off Qin Luo’s group of three.
Qin Luo did not know how many lives he had saved from these few sentences he had left behind after this departure. Right now, he is eager to return to his country and he hated how he couldn’t just teleport home.
Since the UFO had crashed half a year earlier and had been taken back by the SB of a country, Country R, it is very likely the subsequent changes will be furthered. He must return to his home as soon as possible and make preparations to resist the apocalypse which is advancing.
Qin Luo’s car sped down the road like a rocket and thought wouldn’t it be better if they could fly? Fortunately, Ink and Qin Ke were brave enough to sit in his car. Ink in particular, his eyes were shining brightly, brimming with excitement. Qin Luo’s driving skills had undergone the baptism of the last days. On a country road with almost no other vehicles, he could do this even with his eyes closed, free of worries. The trio only took half the time needed to return to the villa. Roughly after an hour’s rest, the doorbell rang.
Qin Luo sent Qin Ke and Ink to the bedroom before moving to answer the door. The visitors were the two suited men from the previous meeting. They handed the passports and documents over to Qin Luo with no intention to stay longer than needed. Before they left they had implicitly hinted that since Mr. Donaldson had already fulfilled his request, he hoped that their end of the agreement would be kept and for them to leave the UK. If there were any difficulties in purchasing the flight tickets, they can always help them do so.
Qin Luo naturally did not hold back with George and put in a request for three tickets, departing for Country Z, City S tomorrow. The two men immediately agreed to the request, informing Qin Luo that he may directly head to City L’s airport tomorrow. There will be someone arranged to assist them in completing all the necessary procedures. They hoped that Qin Luo’s group would not delay and miss the boarding time of their arranged flight.
Seeing the two men out, Qin Luo then proceeded to look through some of the wigs left behind by his older sister. While he was at it, he also found some disposable colour contacts. He simply gave Ink a quick makeover and when he was done, Ink had turned into a tall androgynous beauty. Qin Luo nodded in satisfaction and decided they would leave early next morning.
As the villa had already been sold, it was best not to leave anything that could be taken behind. Qin Ke seemed to have some inkling of the situation. Although he did not know of the death of his parents, the little one was keenly aware that he may never return to this place. Therefore, he not only asked for all his toys and clothes to be taken but also the large custom made bed in his room. His parent’s clothes, presents that were previously received, furniture that he like, there seemed to be a never ending list of things that he wanted to take with him.
Qin Luo was a little dumbfounded. If they proceeded according to Qin Ke’s list, it was estimated that when they left, there would be almost nothing but the bare walls of the villa left. However, watching the little one’s pleading face and thinking of his already deceased sister and brother-in-law, he could not bear to refuse Qin Ke’s wishes.
In the end, Qin Luo grit his teeth in defeat. Anyway there was still room in his space so it he could temporarily store them in there for now.
This time he decided to reveal it to Qin Ke and Ink. He directly took the furniture and items into his space in front of them. Initially, they were both dumbstruck but once they recovered, they were commanding Qin Luo to collect this and that without leaving anything behind, it was as if they were hoarders.
Ink stared at the empty room and had to remind Qin Luo who seemed to be oblivious, “That… where are we sleeping tonight?”
Qin Luo froze for a moment, then sheepishly took a big bed out of the space. The three of them squeezed onto the bed in the empty room for the night.
